Threats

Cave beetles are vulnerable to events that impact cave ecology.   The limited range of the cave inhabitants make undesirable changes to the environment inescapable. Events that alter the air or surface of a cave, pollutants, and littering can have an effect on the biota within a cave.  Blocking or altering existing cave entrances, or the creation of new entrances can affect food reaching the areas where the beetles forage.
